David Archuleta Releases The REM Classic “Everybody Hurts” Music Video

David Archuleta performs the REM classic “Everybody Hurts” with an orchestra which includes producer Kurt Bestor. The shots of David Archuleta were recorded in a studio the day before he left on his mission.

The 21-year-old American Idol is currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for two years where he is reportedly been assigned to Chile, entered the Provo, Utah Missionary Training Center on March 28, 2012. He assured his fans though that he would return to music upon the completion of his mission.

The music video, released last August 22 only get 182,256 views as of this writing. This is quite disappointing compared to the other music videos released on YouTube. David Archuleta‘s new video is actually heart-warming and deserves more views. I personally believe a talented artist like David Archuleta should not be put to waste.

Everybody Hurts” is originally performed by R.E.M., and was released on the band’s 1992 album Automatic for the People and became a hit single in 1993. The song was voted “the most depressing song of all time” according to a poll conducted by The Telegraph.

David Archuleta‘s new album BEGIN (released worldwide last August 7) is also available at iTunes and at Deseret Book and is locally released in the Philippines under Ivory Music & Video.
