I just saw Iwa Moto‘s topless magazine cover for Playboy Philippines August 2012 issue online (sorry, I didn’t notice it being displayed in some magazine stores) and I can’t help but notice the resemblance (the idea, that is) to Solenn Heussaff‘s March 2011 cover for FHM Philippines.
Iwa Moto, in sexy leather outfit, graces the cover of the world’s famous brand (but not here in the Philippines) in Playboy Philippines 45th issue. The sexy actress is ‘young, wild and feisty’ indeed and looks like at her best shape. But I can see the similarity of their concept to the ones done by the Philippines number 1 men’s magazine, FHM Philippines. Check out this hot cover of SolennHeussaff:
From what I see from their Nina cover, it feels like I am reading FHM too except, FHM is more vulgar in terms of articles (Playboy, in fact, has decent articles and it doesn’t talk about ‘sex’ that much actually) and STILL has more daring photos compared to Playboy Philippines. But I must admit that the latter has improved its layout… and in my opinion, looks like FHM.
Also, it seems Playboy Philippines is starting to recruit some of FHM Philippines’ regular and popular celebrity cover girls (Aubrey Miles, Juliana Palermo, LJ Reyes, Valerie Concepcion, RR Enriquez). Maybe they can’t find any more fresh talents and simply rely on their popularity. Getting celebrity cover girls is in fact less promotion and less work for them. So, good move there Playboy Philippines!
Anyway, aside from Iwa Moto, Playboy Philippines also have an exclusive interview with Tom Cruise, and announced that Playmates from Venezuela and Netherlands are visiting the Philippines soon. For now, check out their Playmate of the month, Grey Gomez.
