Even before she won Star For A Night in 2003, Sarah Geronimo (real name Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo) is already loved by millions of Filipinos.

And when she become the Pop Princess, breaking records in music and movies, her fans continues to support her and loved her even more. It helps that Sarah Geronimo maintains a wholesome image and remains a good example to her younger audience.

But for her upcoming birthday concert, Sarah Geronimo reveals that she is giving her fans a pleasant surprise as they will be witnessing a new Sarah Geronimo at the Araneta Coliseum.

Dubbed 24/SG”, the birthday concert will be on July 7 (Saturday), 8:00 PM. The Pop Princess has decided to show her more glamorous, sensual side in keeping with her image as the Concert Queen of the new generation.

In her press conference, Sarah Geronimo mentioned that she is gearing up for a totally different concert as her birthday treat to fans and followers. “We will have a different concept, not something that you usually see in variety shows or at Sarah G: Live,” Sarah Geronimo said.

“The show is something Sarah’s fans have never seen her do before,” adds Viva Concerts big boss Vic del Rosario. But he refused to elaborate, simply saying fans are in for an amazing show in “24/SG.”

As Sarah Geronimo grows up in the entertainment industry, she has also become a fashionista and a designer’s favorite. Her youthful aura, class act and womanly body was featured several times in fashion magazines like Metro, Cosmopolitan, Preview, and Mega magazines, among others. In her birthday concert, expect to see her show off her trend-setting gowns once more.

It’s not the first time Sarah Geronimo is performing at the Araneta Coliseum. The singer-actress has filled up the Big Dome several times already and has proven herself a top draw many times over.

Sarah Geronimo’s wholesome image and credibility continue to rake in prestigious endorsements. She has long been endorsing top products like Jollibee, Cebuana Lhuiller, Globe, Selecta Ice Cram and Sunsilk, to name a few. She was even included at YES! Top Celebrity Endorsers of 2011 alongside Sharon Cuneta, Kris Aquino, John Lloyd Cruz, etc.

Orange Magazine TV managed to interview Sarah Geronimo during her presscon and here’s what she said:

During the press conference, Sarah Geronimo also reveals that her rumored-boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, who she have paired in several projects (they were last seen at the blockbuster movie “Catch Me I’m In Love”), was indeed very special for her.

“Special yung tao (Gerald Anderson). Ayoko madaliin. May takot ako, may takot din siya. Mawala na ang lahat ‘wag lang yung friendship. Gusto pa naming makilala ang isa’t isa,” Sarah Geronimo said.

“Gusto ko pang makilala yung buong pagkatao niya. Hindi lang yung nakikita panlabas. Kasi, di ba ang guwapo niya?” Sarah Geronimo added.

“Ayoko madaliin kasi may mga responsibilities pa ako. Kung puso ko lang ang masusunod, may boyfriend na ako.”

“Nasa stage po ako na litong-lito ako…”

But when asked if she is ready to fall in love again, Sarah Geronimo said, “Gusto ko kapag nagmahal ako hanggang wakas na kasi kaya ko naman.”

She also reveals her relationship status with Gerald Anderson when asked if they are more than friends, “We’re less than a lover,” and gave that sheepingly smile.

Sarah Geronimo was also asked about her birthday wish, which she answers “Birthday wish ko is wisdom. To be independent. Kailangan ko yung matutunan kasi kawawa ako kung di ko yun matutunan.”

But she immediately clears that she’s not leaving her family soon when she say she wanted to be independent. “Hindi ko pa kayang mag solo. Hindi ko pa kayang malayo sa pamilya ko. Gusto ko maging responsable sa trabaho at sa studies ko.”

“Gusto ko ng freedom at responsibility sa freedom na binibigay ng pamilya ko. Naniniwala naman ako sa values na tinuro ng magulang ko.”

Sarah Geronimo is also being compared now to American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez because of their physical resemblance. And although a member of the press keeps on praising her to be more beautiful than Jessica Sanchez, Sarah Geronimo only said: “Jessica is beautiful in her own way. Napakaganda niya. Napakagaling niya kumanta.”

Personally speaking, Sarah Geronimo deserves to be heard not just in the Philippines but also abroad. She has the right package of becoming a worldwide star. Hopefully, in the coming years, she will be marketed abroad because she deserves it.

One more thing that the fans will watch out for in her birthday concert, as Sarah Geronimo will be performing some of her new original songs, which they hope will also be available this July.

We also asked her why she’s no longer active in Twitter, and she answered back that her account was hacked before and that “magulo po sa Twitter.” So, I guess we wont be seeing Sarah Geronimo tweeting for a while now. Too bad, because her Twitter account already reached 1,151,187 followers to date.
